Known for, Theory of the Tripartite Soul: As one of the founders of Western thought, Plato helped shape ideas about government and societies throughout the centuries. Early Life of Plato: Plato was born sometime between 428 and 427 B.C. As is common among many of the great philosophers of his day, there are no records of Plato's birth and early life. In terms of where he was born, it is accepted that he may have been born in Aegina, although there is no certainty to this assessment.
